ABOUT

Welcome to A Child’s First Step every day is filled with fun learning experiences! Each day, caring and attentive teachers provide your child with countless opportunities to grow academically, socially, emotionally and physically in a safe and loving environment.

A Child’s First Step was born out of a love for children and a vision to provide premiere educational and care services to children with working parents. Started in 1996; Mrs. Davis provides a nurturing and educational service with licensed and certified staff. Training and development is a continuous endeavor and includes experienced speakers, workshops, frequent discussion, and interaction among staff and director. The staff is encouraged to visit other programs and to continue their educational experience to stay abreast on childcare industry trends and advances.

Our primary goal our goal is to provide a high-quality early childhood program within a safe and nurturing environment, allowing children to develop independence, confidence, and a positive sense of themselves and the world around them. We will challenge and stimulate each child through a variety of developmentally appropriate activities to enhance language, literature, music, movement, creativity, and socialization. We will encourage warm social relationships to develop through interactions with adults and other children. We establish daily routines to ensure a secure and healthy environment.

Our parents are assured that our learning facility is a home away from home and that their children are loved, safe, and genuinely cared for. Our center has responded to the growing needs of working parents with excellent childcare that fosters their peace of mind. We work to make each day a happy learning experience by including opportunities for socialization, group play, reading aloud, dress-up/costume time, music, gym, and arts/crafts.

In addition, we have special knowledge for caring for pre-mature babies born out of Mrs. Davis’ personal experience of having children born prematurely and with physical ailments. We have established relationships with therapeutic services and they are welcomed into the center to provide assistance with special needs children.

We are a community-focused establishment and work towards building continuity between parents, families, the community, and our facility.
